What to look forward to

Ahhh.. the last day of February is here. I was up last night thinking about what the spring, summer, and fall seasons will have in store for us here in Kennebunkport. We have so many exciting things happening in Kennebunkport, and in Maine in general.

There is so much to do and see its hard to get to them all. There are fantastic arts and crafts shows, gallery showings, tours, festivals, fairs, and sightseeing on the coast.

Our Chamber of Commerce has a new and improved website that is really cool. They do a great job of updating the Calendar of Events-check it out http://tinyurl.com/awf7gc

One festival that I really enjoy is the Arts in the Inns. Basically, Kennebunkport turns into a huge open air gallery for a weekend. Local and National Chefs are "Paired" with Local and National artists and together they create dinners that are based on specific works of art. Its a very cool concept and you get to enjoy a three or four or five course dinner while enjoying the art and seeing how the chef interprets it into a meal..VERY COOL.. There are also all the jazzy events too like the Twilight Soiree, my favorite The Champagne review, and Artist in Residence tours. I suggest you check out the website and come up for a night. A lot of the Inns, hotels, and B&B's that participate in it offer packages designed around the weekend. Visit the Arts in the Inns website http://tinyurl.com/c66dtw

I love LOVE to go to the School Around Us Fair on the Green in Kennebunkport. It is an amazing weekend. It is a weekend long fair that brings the best of the best in Crafting to Kennebunkport. They have pottery, basket weaving, watercolors, jewelry, woodcarvings, herbs, dried flowers and original works of fine art. Its VERY VERY Cool. You can check out the School Around Us at http://tinyurl.com/ajgj9p

Sooo you have some planning to do! Check out the sites, and come on up or down to Kennebunkport.
