Historic Inns of Kennebunkport

Since the Cabot Cove Cottages are not open in the winter, I refer people who call looking to stay to the Inns that are open. A series of inns we have in Kennebunkport are part of the "Historical Inns." There are seven inns around Kennebunk and Kennebunkport that are in beautiful mansions. Each inn offers its owners unique touches and tastes. You can visit their website here http://http//www.kportinns.com The website lists each inn and provides links to their websites and you can view the Event Page.

I like that they as a whole always come up with great ideas for people visiting. These are some of the events that they have planned for the month of March:

March 8: Kennebunkport Cookie Madness -Come discover the fine art of the cookie as you participate in a tasting tour of the Historic Inns of Kennebunkport and their secret recipes. Enjoy a tour of each of the fine Historic Inns, sample each Inn's signature cookie and take home their secret recipe. Vote for your favorite chocolate chip cookie!

March 15: The Art of Boat Building -Have you ever dreamed of building your own boat? How about simply owning one? This is the weekend for you! Tour the acclaimed Landing Boat Building School in Arundel, Maine in the morning. Attend the Maine Boat Building Show in Portland, Maine in the afternoon.

March 22: Maple Sugaring Memories-Discover authentic Maine as you take a guided tour of one of Maine's traditional maple sugar farms; Giles Farm in Alfred, Maine. See how native maple trees are tapped and the sap collected. View the syrup making process first hand in a genuine Shaker Barn. Enjoy a New England lunch, complete with maple sugar treats!
