What can I do there??

I love Kennebunkport. I love the location near the water, the small town life that we have here, and all of the activities that we have year round.

As an innkeeper, I try to experience all of the amenities in Kennebunkport and the surrounding towns so I can give my guests accurate feedback on them.

It seems that each time I talk to a guest, they seem amazed that there is so much to do here in Kennebunkport and at Cabot Cove. I have compiled a random list of some things that I suggest that guests at Cabot Cove Cottages do. Please let me know if you have any other additions..

Walk to downtown Kennebunkport ‘s “Dock Square” and explore the many fine shops, galleries and restaurants; wander to the harbor to look for yachts and tuna boats.

Visit stately summer homes, not the least of which belongs to George and Barbara Bush.
Walk tree line streets showcasing 18th and 19th century architecture built by merchants and sea captains.

Build sand castles, swim or be a beachcomber at one of the three beaches in Kennebunk/Kennebunkport.

Take a bike ride along scenic coastal routes.

Relax.

Visit Cape Porpoise, the quintessential Maine working harbor, home port to lobstermen and fishermen and have lunch on the pier.

Take a boat excursion - whale watching, schooner, scenic cruise or lobster boat, or charter a boat for a private excursion (Captain included).

Maine is known for its lighthouses; bring your camera.

Take a guided architectural walking tour, including a National Register Historical District Village Walk arranged at the Historic Nott House hosted by The Kennebunkport Historical Society.

Play a round at one of two golf courses within five minutes of Cabot Cove.

Relax.

Visit fine antique shops, auction houses and old bookstores.

Dine in style or rough it in a lobster shack.

Fish off the breakwater or a charter. You don’t need a license just a line and some bait.
Take a nature walk through Laudholm Farm, a unique saltwater farm, or the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge.

Relax.

Take in a summer theater show at one of our local playhouse Arundel Barn Playhouse or to the Ogunquit Playhouse, rich in history and one of the country's premier summer playhouses.

Ride and explore antique trolleys from around the world at the Seashore Trolley Museum.

Visit the Brick Store Museum for historical exhibits and original furnishings.

Relax.

Launch one of our kayaks and meander the Kennebunk River.

Paddle a skiff around Cabot Cove.

Wander our lavish gardens.

Laze on our dock; fish or catch-up on a novel.
